All Night Long [Eleven Seven, 2010] es el quinto disco en estudio de Buckcherry. Y ellos siguen en las mismas coordenadas que cuando debutaron allá por 1999. Han dejado el lado sensible de Black Butterfly [Eleven Seven, 2008] para regresar a su estilo desenfadado y fiestero de sus anteriores entregas.
Es decir, si os gusta el rock angelino de los 80′s, ya sabéis Mötley Crüe, Guns’N’Roses, … ; así como los riffs al estilo de AC/DC y la voz de Steven Tyler de Aerosmith, Buckcherry pueden llegar a interesarte. Sin embargo, también pueden llegar a decepcionarte terriblemente, que es lo que me ha pasado con All Night Long.
No se puede decir que All Night Long sea un mal disco. No, simplemente es aburrido, previsible, carente de inspiración como el inicio de “It’s a Party” que recuerda a “We Will Rock You” de Queen y cuyo desarrollo nos lleva a acordarnos de los Guns’N’Roses del Appetite for Destruction.
Y como nos suelen tener acostumbrados Buckcherry, All Night Long se desploma con cada canción. Un buen inicio, fiestero y en la línea de riffs made in AC/DC, con “All Night Long” e “It’s a Party”, para después desear que se concluya ya.
Al igual que la originalidad nunca fue su mayor virtud, Buckcherry tampoco han sido un grupo capaz de hacer un álbum que pase a la posterioridad. No. Buckcherry han hecho buenos discos, sólidos, sin grandes fisuras, pero nunca han llegado a firmar una obra maestra. Tan sólo descarrilaron con Black Butterfly y con All Night Long han querido volver a ser los Buckcherry de su debut o de 15 [Eleven Seven, 2006]. Pero no lo han logrado. El esquema de rockear e intercalar baladas, en esta ocasión, no ha funcionado.
A pesar de ello, hay destellos entre la oscuridad. Canciones como las citadas “All Night Long” e “It’s a Party” se les unen “Dead”, “Oh My Lord” -el corte que más puramente suena a AC/DC– y “Liberty”. Pero, personalmente, me resulta insuficiente a pesar de saber de antemano que nunca fueron ni los más originales ni los discípulos aventajados de AC/DC.

Pues leyendo la reseña me parece algo contradictoria "...es aburrido, previsible, carente de inspiración como el inicio de “It’s a Party” que recuerda a “We Will Rock You” de Queen y cuyo desarrollo nos lleva a acordarnos de los Guns’N’Roses del Appetite for Destruction." y luego dices "Un buen inicio, fiestero y en la línea de riffs made in AC/DC, con “All Night Long” e “It’s a Party”" es decir, primero hablas bien de It's a Party y luego hablas mal de ella???...
Soy fan de BUCKCHERRY pero no defensor de ellos cuando hacen algo malo, a este disco yo les critico las baladas y no por que no me gusten las baladas que antes hayan hecho, siempre me han gustado pero en este disco no destaco ninguna, como me pasó con el Time Bomb.
Tampoco parece que "ellos siguen en las mismas coordenadas que cuando debutaron allá por 1999", el disco homonimo es mucho mas rockero, mucho mas punkarra, que en mi opinión es gracias a la producción a cargo de Steve Jones, este All Night Long es más festivo y alegre, estuvo co-producido por Keith Nelson que tiene muchas influencias blues y sureñas que contrastan con las influencias de el resto de los integrantes de la banda y lo melodioso del otro productor del disco.
En resumen la reseña no es buena, no explicas bien lo que quieres transmitir, dejas muchos vacíos y quién te lee atentamente (teniendo en cuento las oportunidades de mejora que comenté anteriormente) se da cuenta que te contradices. A mi el disco me ha gustado y mucho, cuando lo escucho y se termina parece que no han pasado ni 10 minutos y el disco dura mas de 40, y su obra maestra es Buckcherry (1999) sólo que la época en la que salió no los favoreció, un disco que si hubiera salido en otra época seria fundamental y habría pasado a la posteridad.
Yo lo valoraría con un 9/10, que si no la pasas bien copn este disco es por que no te gusta el Rock N' Roll...

Ahh yes, music. My first love, if I'm being honest. My iTunes libarry is also stashed with a great many playlists for any any occasion. Music drives me. The right song, at the time, can inspire me. So a smattering o' tunes from a few of my playlists, as requested:UP WHERE WE BELONG: To lift me, like a bird, during those moments when life is just a kick in the ass: Love Reign O'er Me by The Who (arguably the greatest rock song ever written).
